The story

Recovering from a German bullet in the Ardennes, an American captain receives word of a newly discovered concentration camp: starving prisoners, stacked bodies, rooms filled with shoes and hair.
With Soviet forces closing in on Berlin, Allied command intends to keep the advance moving, leaving only minimal forces behind. The captain warns that haste will mean untreated disease, unaccounted-for guards, destroyed evidence—and survivors continuing to die after liberation.
To protect them, he joins Operation Mercy Torch alongside Sabina, a French nurse who refuses to let orders decide whom she will save, and Chaplain Pierson, whose faith demands more than obedience.
Inside the camp, Jewish poet Ionel Abramovich and his wife, Esther, cling to the hope that their daughter, Miriam, is still alive. Forced to assist an SS physician who turns prisoners’ suffering into medical data, Ionel uses every scrap of influence to preserve his family. The work that keeps them alive may also condemn them as collaborators.
